Summer Reading Day 74: Hello, everyone! Today, we read The Quiet Book, written by Deborah Underwood and illustrated by Renata Liwska. This little book explores all the different types of quiet there are, from early morning just-got-up quiet to playing-hide-and-seek quiet to tucking-in-your-teddy-bear quiet, and everything in-between. Told through illustrations of four animal friends, readers will find that quiet comes in all shapes and forms.
This was a cute book. It definitely covers the idea of quiet, and it lends itself to being read quietly (I found myself whispering when I didn’t even mean to). The length is good for babies, and between that and the tone, this would make a good bedtime story. And Liwska’s illustrations of the animal friends are fun but not overly-stimulating. Very cute. Baby Bookworm approved!
