Boy + Bot (Ame Dyckman)

Hello, friends! Our book today is Boy + Bot, written by Ame Dyckman and illustrated by Dan Yaccarino, an adorable story about two very different friends.

One day, Boy is playing when he meets Bot. Boy and Bot get along wonderfully, and spend the whole day playing until Bot’s power switch is accidentally flipped and he powers down. Worried about his unresponsive friend, Boy takes him home and cares for him, feeding him and reading him a story. Later that night, Bot is turned back on and finds Boy sleeping. Worried about his unresponsive friend, he takes Boy home and cares for him by oiling him and reading him a manual. Eventually, the friends are returned to their proper homes, but they still play every day, knowing that their differences could never get in the way of true friendship!

This book was so cute! The misunderstandings of the two friends and their different, yet similar, ways of trying to take care of each other are precious. The illustrations are sweet, simple and colorful, and the length is just perfect for baby bookworms. We loved this one!
